wwp@yahoogroups.com:
publicizing the World Wide Panorama
G. Donald Bain 2004-Oct-11 07:39:00
The press materials I had hoped to make available today will have to
wait a bit. Due to a lot of unforeseen interruptions and a genuine
family emergency, I couldn't get to it. With any luck I will have
something for you tomorrow.
Feel free to publicize the site any way you see fit ? it belongs to all
of us.
The Bridges panorama site specifically is at:
http://geoimages.berkeley.edu/wwp904/
but I would prefer that people be referred to the root of the site,
from which they can choose any of the three events.
The real url is:
http://geoimages.berkeley.edu/wwp
or
http://geoimages.berkeley.edu/wwp.html
but you can also use:
http://worldwidepanorama.com
or
http://wwpano.org
Be sure to call attention to the international character of the event,
the fact that it is non-profit and created by volunteers, and that all
images are copyright by the original photographers. Credit to the
University of California Berkeley (which provides free server space and
bandwidth) would be appreciated.
Depending on the audience, it may be necessary to explain what a VR
panorama is, and to mention that QuickTime is needed and available
free.
Finally, and very importantly, one of the reasons for this project is
to increase the number of links among VR panorama sites. The WWP site
itself has thousands of outgoing links. Remember to link to it from
your site.
