Sure it is because you select the placement of the camera in the same
way that you do with flat photography and you select the opening frame
of the pano which sets the mood for the subsequent viewing of the pano.
You've seen them, panos where the opening frame is looking at the floor
or the back of a trash can or an elephant's arm pit (do elephants really
have arm pits?) and it totally distracts from the rest of the subject in
the pano. Whereas good initial framing sets up the viewer for the
spectacular view you've captured as a full sphere.
