The World Wide Panorama Needs YOU!

The WWP is an ongoing event, open to everyone who wishes to produce
and publish VR panoramas. It is a great way for beginners to get
their work noticed, as well as for experienced producers to keep
their name and work out there in the public eye. It is non-
commercial, sponsored by the University of California Berkeley.

In addition to having your work displayed on this well-known site,
you can link back to your own site. There is a biography page where
you can describe yourself and your business, and provide urls and e-
mails for potential clients and fans. The site includes a randomly
selected panorama of the day and an RSS feed, as well as
comprehensive navigation tools and search.

The project began in March 2004 and has now published 14 themed
events. There are 3476 panoramas on the site, created by 841
different participants. Its geographic coverage is truly world-wide
(except for Antarctica), with entries from over 60 countries. It
includes some really outstanding works of panoramic art by leading
practitioners.

To participate all you need to do is to shoot your subject material
during the stated period (September 19-23), then produce it as a
QuickTime VR panorama in two versions, one medium size and one full-
screen, within stated size limits. You will have until October 5 to
log on to our Prep Server, upload your imagery and prepare your page.

A theme is provided to spark your imagination, but not to limit your
creativity. This event is "sustenance" - whatever it is that one
needs to survive, from the basics of food and water, to higher needs:
social, emotional, and spiritual. It can also be interpreted as
sustenance for something non-human, even non-biologic, or to
illustrate the concept of "sustainability" in businesses, systems,
and architecture. You can choose an easy static subject that is a
direct interpretation, such as a field of ripening crops or a "green"
building, or a "high concept" creation that needs explaining. Browse
the previous events for inspiration.
