Well.

Thanks to you, Yuv for reminder and to you and Serge for your panic sharing.

I was thinking to be the only one who has many many shoots unstitched, but
I?m not, I see.

I was thinking to be the only one who gets in panic when the date not only
of ?The best of...?
but of all of other events is arriving, but luckly I learn now I?m not .

I?ll try to partecipate to both events and I hope to be more peaceful, but I
think I?ll arrive
always at the last minute.

I want to take advantage to thank all guys involved in this big work who
make it possible.

Keep it up.

Ciao.

Roberto.

Oggetto: two weeks to the solstice - will you participate to the
Wrinkle Tribute?

Hi all,

it's again that time of the year and we're probably all busy, shopping
for presents and writing cards.

Will I be caught at the last minute for the winter solstice WWP? you bet!

And in case, like me, you have missed the original announcement that
went under in the noise between events, this year there are two of them!

l>

Two chances to be caught off-guard, to have that wonderful feeling of
being in control while the deadline approaches. The "Best of" and the
"Wrinkle Tribute".

BEST OFF

You know the drill. Been there, done that, two years in a row. Easy? Not!

Once again, my hard disk space has been filling up with shots at a
faster pace than I can stitch (if Santa is reading this mailing list,
that's a suttle hint).

Once again, last minute frenetic activity to choose and stitch the
contribution.

Once again, that panic as deadline nears. Adrenaline flows!

I love the best of, because everybody can easily participate. It's
purely my fault if I am not ready. I bet you are! So please,
contribute. Show me please, some meaningful/beautiful corners of your
world.

Note to self for next year: set aside potential candidates right after
stitching.

WRINKLE TRIBUTE

Eh? what's that? Oh, it's from before my time!

It's very well explained at
<http://geoimages.berkeley.edu/worldwidepanorama/wwp/practical/NextEvent.htm
l>
and I am humbled by the chance to pay a tribute to those pioneers,
some of whom are still amongst us and I hope to see contributions from
them! Pleeease...

Plan: as the solstice gets close, walk by a local church with an
illuminated clock tower. Wait for the exact solstice time (which
happens to be 22-December at 1:08 AM in this part of the globe), shoot
the pano. Try to be in the picture. Stitch, contribute.

Sounds easy? oh well, not sure it will be illuminated. We had record
snow fall and it keeps coming. Somebody mentioned global warming?
we're technically not yet in winter but we've already touched down at
-20?C two nights ago and the next 24 hours will be a roller coaster.
Note to self: keep spare batteries in a warm pocket. Last winter I had
them in an external pocket and they each last for about 20 shots...

And when should I stitch? on December 23 family visit from the other
side of the pond is expected, and then it's the traditional Christmas
with my wife's family, and boxing day... But I'll find the time before
the December 28 deadline, and (suttle hint) so should you!

Because it will be fun. Because it is good to contribute to such a
wonderful project as the WWP. Because the original Wrinkle deserves a
tribute. Because Don, Landis, Markus are doing a great job for us. And
most of all, because it is a warm and good feeling to be part of this
community!

Happy Holidays / Merry Christmas / Happy Hanuka / Happy Hajj and most
of all HAPPY PANOSHOOTING!

Yuv
