wwp@yahoogroups.com:
Important note regarding logging in
Markus Altendorff 2004-Dec-24 11:13:00
Hi everybody,
we've had a few mails from people not being able to log in - my
bad, sorry for that. There's a little oddity in the verification
process - if you enter a wrong user name / password combination,
it will NOT allow you to edit anything. However, it *will* act as
if you're in "browsing mode"...
So, for now, if you don't see the little "[EDIT]" fields after
you've entered your user data, please make sure that you've used
the right user name (Hint: it does NOT have any spaces or
characters outside of A-Z, 0-9 in it...)
I'll make the validating a bit more restrictive, so that you'll
get an error message (and a chance to re-login) instead of the
"silent failing" it's currently using. Just gotta do some
christmas shopping before everything closes for the next two days
around here :)
If you're in a hurry, and you've used "remember user name and
password" at the first login (and you don't see any login since
your browser automatically repeats the first data), search the
browser preferences for "auto-filling of forms" or something, and
if it has data for the WWP server (128.32.102.88), delete that
entry. Try again, and see if you get the request for user
name/password this time.
Hope that helps?
