Another short announcement: I've switched on the "Late Edit". The deadline I've entered is nine days from now.
Please don't ask me (yet) to which time zone this is relative to - the server "ticks" by the U.S. "PDT", and that's what the database runs on. I need to wrap my head around how to make this work with either UTC or a nice set of clocks on a world map :)
Also, the deadline might (!) move, depending on the feedback I get from my fellow administrators. So don't take these nine days as the final word. I just wanted to get this going as soon as possible.
The bottom of the text fields at:
http://contribute.worldwidepanorama.org/gen/
shows the current time frame settings, straight from the backend database.
Remember that the theme is "Best Of 2008" - so please don't pick a panorama you've photographed five minutes *after* New Year?s midnight of your local time. This obviously makes it a candidate for Best Of 2009. ;)
I've put all those participants into the "late edit" group who fulfilled one or more of the following criteria:
1) You asked to be included into the Late Edit. (Mail me if I missed you!)
2) There was no date/time given in your contribution. Even an approximate, like "This-or-that month, 2008" would be great.
3) No caption in your contribution. Those are included in the current release, and will remain in it after the update to Late Edit, of course. But please consider adding a caption. It is a great help to our visitors.
4) You have an account, and you added the "template" for WWP 12/08, but you haven't uploaded a panorama.
5) You have an account, and you never uploaded any panorama (which means while you're in the database, your profile never showed up. No pano, no profile. Sorry). Best Of 2008 might be the easiest way to change that :)
If you need help, or if you notice a problem with your contribution and you want/need to be included in the Late Edit group, just send us (i.e. #removed# ) a mail.
