wwp@yahoogroups.com:
more thoughts on TIME

When we choose themes for the WWP events we try to allow for
everything from straightforward literal examples to highly imaginative
and abstract interpretations. Both approaches can lead to memorable
images and immersive experiences. Every time I browse through one of
our events I am amazed at the creativity and diversity expressed there
- truly a world wide panorama.
I tend to start with a few simple ideas. Sometimes I move on to more
abstruse and subtle interpretations. But I think some of the best WWP
images have been very direct - a striking image of something that
clearly exemplifies the theme.
Here are a few of my ideas for "time". Please join in with your
suggestions.
clocks, clock towers, street clocks, floral clocks, atomic clocks,
watches, clock shops, sundials, calendric stones, hourglasses, time
zones, prime meridian and dateline, calendars, dates on monuments,
cornerstones, time capsules, tombstones, eternal flames, geologic
strata, seasons, star tracks, tree rings, ruins, antiques, retro
styles, centennials, reunions, historical markers
Sometimes a pithy quotation can generate ideas:
"Time flies like an arrow, fruit flies like a banana" (Groucho Marx)
... or maybe not.
Personally I have a notion to seek out what I believe to be the
world's largest sundial. Of course I may have to shoulder aside a few
other WWP participants when I get there.
Shooting starts tomorrow, June 18, and continues until Tuesday, so
schedule some photography time into your weekend!
