WWP Contribute site and Mac OS

Has anyone heard of any problems with the website:
contribute.worldwidepanorama.org
and browsers used on Mac OS X?
I recently have had both Firefox and Safari crash repeatedly. When I restored the previous session in the browsers the crash was repeated. The only site they had in common was the WWP contributors' website.
This time I have restarted and avoided the pages of the previous sessions and this time Firefox and Safari have not crashed.
I know this is a completely circumstantial case ... so before jumping to a hasty verdict I thought I would ask whether anyone else had a problem with Mac based browsers and the WWP contributors website?
I think in particular I think the initial crash happened when I tried to view the preview page before a QuickTime VR version could have been generated.
