touchscreen kiosk navigation with QTVR

I have a potential client/developer that is interested in integrating QTVR images into a touchscreen kiosk and needs a few questions answered with regard to navigation. He's interested in using a toolbar similar to perhaps Patrick Cheatham's SpinControl options but wants to limit the vertical tilting, essentially allowing for cylindrical navigation. He wants the interactivity but doesn't want to use a trackball - just touchscreen. He's also interested in using a Linux box but isn't opposed to using an XP box. Anyone have any experience with creating an interface for touchscreens that might offer suggestions or potential issues to look out for?
