wwp@yahoogroups.com:
shooting energy frustrations

I had hoped to shoot the interior of a nuclear power station but despite having a very good
friend, on the inside, I was refused due to the current security situation here in the UK.
Following on from that, a word of advice to any other UK panographers thinking of a
power station as a subject. In the course of my discussions I was told that there are now
armed rapid response units allocated to these sites so do be careful.
Although there are many countries where that would not be unusual here in the UK armed
response units are still thankfully a rarity.
I then tried to get access to the sound mirrors at Denge - wonderful concrete listening
devices built for early warning in WW2 - look up sound mirrors denge on google for lots of
info if you are interested.
Unfortunately no luck here either - a combination of liability issues and jobsworth attitude
so my energy at the moment is going into thinking of other ideas! As we have just had the
highest petrol prices ever here in the UK I think that I might relate to that - if I can afford
to drive anywhere to shoot that is!
Good luck to all.
Best
Bruce
