Re: size for panoramas

Hi Troy,
Panorama was taken with Nikon Coolpix 4300, with wide-angle converter
WC-E75 (equivalent to 24mm traditional), 12 pictures in a circle. For
stitching I was using QickTimeVR Authoring Studio. Base image created
was 11497x1986 pixels. It was saved as PSD file and retouched in
Photoshop. For the full resolution VR - 1000x500px, image was first
resized to 7000x1208px, JPG format with 12 compression. Setting in the
Authoring Studio was high (not best), for Sorensen Video type of
compression. Mov file was 1.5 MB. For smaller VR - 700x350px, original
image was resized to 4000x688. Mov file was 524KB. On-line versions that
I am using on my web site
( http://www.senecac.on.ca/workarea/aleks/squares/canada02.html ) are
all done from 2400x412 px and the size of the final mov file in that
case is around 200KB. Tip: never resize already resized image, always go
back to original PSD file.
Good Luck, Aleks
