wwp@yahoogroups.com: Pano2QTVR Settings Questions Wheaton, Simon 2005-Oct-12 20:54:00
Sorry if these are stupid/basic/newbie questions, but there doesn't seem to be a detailed manual for Pano2QTVR, and I would like to understand what the various settings are doing.

I'm just trying to get my head around the Pano2QTVR settings, since I'm not really happy with my cylindrical WWP submission and want to make a couple of changes during the time it is open for editing.

I would appreciate peoples opinions on what these different settings of the various options will do, in terms of files size/image quality/panning quality/etc., and why you choose one setting over another.

Does the 'Tile Settings/Horizontal tiles:' setting make any difference to file size, panning smoothness, and pano quality? (As long as the number of tiles is evenly divisible into the horiztonal resolution)

What sort of settings are you using for 'Tile Settings/Horizontal tiles:'?

Should I use 'Tile Settings/Subtiles:' other than '1 x 1' in a cylindrical pano?

What sort of 'Tile Settings/Quality:' settings do you use, what would be the minimum acceptable level, and how noticable are changes throughout the range?

I find that with my fullscreen WWP submission, if I set the 'Movie Properties/Motion Quality:' to 'Lossless' and 'Movie Properties/Static Quality:' to 'Lossless', then the panning is very jerky, making panning unpleasant to view. I find that the fullscreen panning is less jerky with 'Movie Properties/Motion Quality:' set to 'Normal'. It seems that the smaller standard version is OK with panning when 'Movie Properties/Motion Quality:' is set to 'Lossless'.

What sort of settings do you use for 'Movie Properties/Motion Quality:' and 'Movie Properties/Static Quality:'?

Do you use a preview track, and does it work well? If so, what settings?

Do you enable protection and/or compressed headers?

Any other tips or info on using Pano2QTVR?

Thanks,
Simon
