Congratulations

Having created a number of large web sites, I appreciate the effort
that has gone into this major undertaking. Usually I have to deal
with one content contributor at a time, occasionally with a few
more. Trying to get them to respond to requests in a timely manner
and follow instructions is almost always a headache. Having to do
this with couple of hundred contributors seems like a nightmare to
me, but you pulled it off and admirably so.
The site looks great, and from all of the posts, the enthusiasm and
work that has been done by all of the contributors is amazing. But
putting it all together has been a Herculean task, and you have my
utmost admiration for your efforts. Don, Landis, and Kat, the VR
world owes you an overwhelming round of applause.
Just think, six weeks ago we were asked to participate in this
project, and despite wind, rain, snow, dust, heat, cold, and
apparently in some cases going to extreme lengths, we compiled
a variety of panoramas that truly represent the range of what VR can
demonstrate, and that it is not only for professionals, but a lot of
fun for anyone with a camera and some miscellaneous hardware
and software. It doesn't even have to be expensive judging from the
number of people who did hand helds, or used home-made rigs,
and free or inexpensive software. So kudos should go to all who
participated as well. I'm still going through all of the panos, just
to see what people used, and how I fit in to all of this. I'm sure
others are doing the same. So not only did I get to participate,
I learned a lot that improved my submission, and will serve me well
in future endeavors.
I'm looking forward to the next project of this sort, not only for the
opportunity to have my work seen, but all of the tips, suggestions,
and encouragement the group shared with each other.
So again, my congratulations to everyone who participated, with the
top awards going to the organizers. Don, Landis and Kat, take a bow
please, and then take a well deserved break! I hope to meet you all
in Sedona.
Thank you,
George
