wwp@yahoogroups.com: What are the rules for submitting an object movie? Gabi Haindl 2005-Dec-11 18:00:00
Hi Don, Landis and Markus!

I'm thinking about submitting an object movie for the "Best of 2005".

At the moment I try to improve my object movies. And I consider the last of
these object movies, a flower of Passiflora caerulea, could count as a "best
of 2005". But the problem of these qtvr is the filesize. The last one I
made, covered more than the upper half of the sphere:
90? (zenith) -> -30? in 10? steps = 13 rows; each row has 36 photos, also in
10? steps.
So 468 different photos of the flower. It took me 50 minutes to take the
photos btw. ;-)

A preliminary version, resised to 500 x 500 pixels, gave a filesize of 5.2
MB. And that would count as a small version. A fullscreen, or a bigger
version that would take the full resolution of the photos, would be really
big. I guess beyond 20 MB. sigh :-(

I haven't tried to compress the movie higher. I'm still waiting for the
delivery of my Quicktime-Pro key. Without it I can only work with a really
old quicktime version on an iBook ...

What would be the sizes for the two versions to submit?
I mean, the size in pixels for the window and the filesize.

That would give me a hint if it would be possible to submit such an object
movie or if I better go out and take a normal pano somewhere ...

Happy third Advent!
