Re-introducing Panotools
Bert Vierstra 2006-May-11 03:03:00
The basis of many panorama programs today are the famous Panotools by
Helmut Dersch.
Already for a long time the Panotools Yahoo mailing list is very
active in discussing Panorama Photography in a broad way.
The enthousiasm of the members has resulted in an extensive Wiki about
creating and displaying Panoramas.
Since about 2 weeks I have done something about the "front-page" of
the Panotools website, because this was rather empty.
It now shows (reviewable) products, a 360x180 gallery with 4 viewer
options and some more stuff, like a script to "translate" embedded
content code into embed code that does not require activate clicks
from users of the latest IE versions.
The site is not commercial, add-free and doesn't want to compete with
anyone, allthough its allways nice to have some visitors.
The gallery is rather new, only one day now, and is meant to show a
new pano every week, but to fill it up a bit, we can still use a few
equirectalinears of 2000x1000 px and around 300kb, with a good
description. Of course you get a link to your site from the gallery,
see examples. Use the contact form to get in touch.
Also news stories etc are welcome.
The site: http://www.panotools.info/
(still sort of beta, feedback in case of problems appreciated)
