That's right, the origin is the same. All these rocks were levelled by glaciers and mighty flow when the glacier was melting down. Ottawa Valley had been formed by such a huge (up to ~10 km wide) flow. An altitude is similar, in ~200-300 m range. Here is another pano from the top of the escarpment on the Quebec side of the Valley:
