wwp@yahoogroups.com: Death Valley Bo 2004-Jun-23 19:11:00
Finally, managed to get some of the panoramas from Saturday put
together. (smile) NOW I just have to figure out how to make a nice
autorotating QTVR, since I have been using PTviewer for quite a
while now.

Got to Trona Saturday morning and shot 3 panoramas there, those are
still being cooked.

In the afternoon I shot the Devils Golf Course, it was hotter than
@#$$% there, and I don't even want to think about finding my ball
again let alone sink a put. After that I drove over to the Natural
Bridge on the other side of the road. (smile)

We also did stop by the Artist Palette, but it was even harder to
get down INTO the sene there. finally on the way back around sunset
I looked at the sand-dunes, but did not get the shadows to work for
me. Probably have to do that a little earlier... or maybe it was
just tooo hot to think in the first place.

Lesson learned, Devils Golf Course is minerals, and probably will
look more exciting earlier in the year, by about 2-3 months. (it
might also be cooler which would not hurt, the screen on my GPS were
turning black from the heat and I had a hard time photographing it
with my still camera to record the panoramas position. I always try
to capture a picture of the pano cam in position, then a shot of
where the tripod stood for tripod removal and finally the GPS
screen, all with a handheld with a wide lens. )

The two Death Valley panos are on my play-box page in a low-rez Java
version right now, Fullscreen high-rez to follow sometime this
evening.
