I actually saw an iPhone this afternoon at MacWorld Expo. Or at least
a plausible model of one. It was in a plexiglass cylinder with
literally hundreds of people crowded around taking pictures as it
slowly revolved. Reminded me of viewing the Crown Jewels in the Tower
of London.
The demo was very impressive - huge projection screens, the iPhone
depicted ten feet tall against a black background, a crowd of
hundreds, maybe thousands, staring up in silent awe. On the streets
of San Francisco outside it seemed like everybody was talking about
it. Apple continues to amaze, nobody else gets that sort of mind-share.
