Hi everyone!
The peace process from which we had expected so much here in Spain
-and particularly the Basque Country- was bombed by ETA last December
the 30th, after almost 9 months of
sometimes-not-so-secret-conversations and an absolutely obscene lack
of cooperation from the part of the Popular Party -the opposition's
main party, the only one who refused supporting the Goverment's
attempts, along with the most integrist part of the Spanish Catholic
Church and an ETA's Victims Association, none of which were present in
the massive demonstrations that subsequently took place in Madrid and
Bilbao.
The fact is that the atmosphere is extremely rarefied. It's incredible
to which point the populist use of media can poison problems instead
of helping in their resolution.
At the same time, ETA's social environment tries to get maximum
exposure by taking by storm all the public events that are held in the
Basque Country, as may be seen in this pano I took last Friday in the
popular 'Tamborrada' that takes place in Donostia - San Sebastian on
January the 20th. The festival starts at 0.0 hs and ends up at 24.00
hs. During that time you may found groups of people playing drums and
disguised as cooks -most usual- or Napoleon's soldiers everywhere in
the city.
The pano was taken by holding high a monopod that rested on my belt
buckle. D200+10,5. You may calculate the acuteness of my sighting by
the expression in my eyes...

Seeing this, can anybody seriously think that strict Police
proceedings may put an end to this problem?
