many thanks to Michel Thoby, Roberto Mancuso, Erik Krause for the tips
and tools. and to my wife for spending time out in the cold there with me.
next time I'll try to be more awake toward sunset (I started the
acceleration too early) and I'll compress time more around sunrise and
sunset.
