When the theme was announced one of the first thoughts I had was of
the very enjoyable atmosphere inside a wine cave on a hot summer day.
They are cool, very slightly humid and suffused with the aroma of
wine and oak ? I could easily live in a wine cave. A few years ago I
spent several happy days visiting wine caves in Northern California
for an article I was writing and managed to shoot 9 or 10 360?
panoramas in as many caves.
A couple weeks back I received an invitation to visit a new winery
that was due to open soon. Under construction for 14 year this Napa
Valley winery is a 200,000+ sq. ft. castle with a huge barrel storage
room on the lowest floor. Fortunately I was able to get permission to
shoot there for the event, but the place is so big with so many dark
passageways that I nearly lost my way. Any way I hope everyone enjoys
the pano when the event begins. I'll be in New Orleans from this
Friday till next so won't have an opportunity to check out the site
till I get back.
