Thank you for your kind comments.
I made the cube faces 2,045 pixels in size with a 4x4 tile setting. 
Compression was Photo-JPEG at 40%.
Of course the sharpness of the Nikon 10.5mm helped a lot.

That's really neat. 4.5mb is astounding for that amount of detail. Good job!

What is the RRS panoramic head. I've never heard of anyone using that
before.
