Hi Richard,
>How do you keep a tripod still in all that mud?
Oh boy. That's why I only shot four panos during the whole festival!
Once the tripod was down it wasn't all that hard; the three feet
usually hit relatively solid earth/grass under the mud. But walking
around was 'difficult'. I was rather concerned that I'd go over
myself, with my cameras (D70/18-200VR, FujiS5Pro/10.5), pano head
(360P Absolute) and all. As it is, the tripod *still* has traces of
mud around the feet and levers. All definitely worth it though - I
love the pano. :-)
Many people abandoned their shoes completely. My son had a friend,
who shall remain nameless (but who won't be allowed to forget it),
who sold his wellington boots in a drunken moment late on Thursday
night... I was awestruck at the scale of his foolishness!
The four panos (including a slightly different stitch of the Fire
Trees pano) and a couple of still shots are at

I should add some of the other single shots there, I thought I'd
uploaded more than those.
(BTW, the Glade Stage Experience pano in that page was an
over-the-head handheld one taken in a totally heaving crowd. All
sorts of stitching errors, but the overall effect is rather fitting!
And that's my next door neighbor behind me with the head-mounted
flashlight! :-)
I'm really looking forward to this summer, taking panoramas and
singles of some of the even crazier installations the artist is
planning. He does festivals all over, including Glastonbury, and he's
very excited about getting more panos done. I'll be helping him start
his own web site shortly.
