I'm back

World Wide Friends,
I have now returned from my trip -- three weeks of back roads and
ferries in British Columbia, Canada. I took 180 panoramas, including
what may be a first - an actual lightning strike captured in the
panorama.
On the long drive home I was able to do some thinking about the future
of the World Wide Panorama. I have now also read all the on-line
discussion of the last few weeks.
I think this is a very valuable project we are collectively working on.
The results of the first two events have been remarkable.
Congratulations and thanks to all of you who made it happen.
When Landis and I originally set out to organize this, we had several
goals: to foster a sense of community among VR photographers; to
bring VR photography to the attention of as many new people as
possible; to advance the use of the QuickTime technology; to create
links between VR sites; and to create an archive of images to showcase
our work. I think we have succeeded in all of these.
Next week I will be sending out a series of e-mails, one per day,
discussing various aspects of the World Wide Panorama, and asking for
your input.
These messages will be going only to the WWP Yahoo group list. I hope
everyone involved, or interested in the World Wide Panorama will
participate in the discussion.
Don
