Regarding the coastline, which I read about in the byline of the pano of

Hans.



That depends on the scale of the map you measure on. Indias coastline is

about 7000km in wikipedia and other sources, but that is about what you

get if you measure it in the map of a standard school atlas. If you zoom

in to the coastline of india in Google Earth you will see that it is

indeed very complex and much much longer. I know that Denmark has many

islands and a long coastline but it is still a very small country and I

wouldn't swear it has a coastline comparable to India if measured in the

same scale. It is all about the scale, you know fractals... ;-)



It would be interesting to find comparable figures.
