wwp@yahoogroups.com: Gotta find me a bridge... Landis 2004-Sep-13 16:36:00
Hey everybody - it's almost time!

I just got back from a great trip taking lots and lots of panoramas
and am now spending quite a bit of quality time with my computer
putting these babies together. Even with all these
panorama-related-program-activities going on, I'm getting quite
excited about putting together another WWP and seeing what everybody
comes up with.

Since I'm based here in the San Francisco Bay Area, we've got plenty
of bridges to choose from, but we also have several participants in
the WWP as well. To me, the Golden Gate Bridge almost seems
over-photographed, but it's a great structure and by far my favorite.
I was thinking that it would not really be that exciting in a
panorama, but then I'm reminded of Aldo's windmills that he thought
were boring because they're right out his window. So maybe the
Golden Gate is a good subject. Is anyone else in the group planning
on this great landmark?

I'm also planning on taking a friend out with me over the WWP period
and teaching him how to take a panorama. I think this might be a
good opportunity for you to do the same if you know anyone who shares
your interests. This would be a great time to introduce them to VR
and get them published in an international project at the same time.

Finally, I have a quick question: how many of you are planning on a
metaphorical bridge vs a physical one? Care to share your ideas? Of
course, you can keep things a surprise, but it may help many others
in the group who are trying to think of ideas to keep their minds
open.

Anyway, just a quick hello and I hope you're all planning on participating!

-Landis
