If you are ever visiting the island of Oahu, you can't pass up the chance to see a touch Japan in Hawaii. Kahaluu is the home of the Valley of the Temple's Byodo-in-Temple. It is a exact replica 900 year old Byodo-in-Temple in Uji near Kyoto, Japan including a 9-foot Buddha. The Byodo-in Temple is one of the hidden gems of O`ahu which most visitors never see.
The temple was recreated to honour the first Japanese immigrants to Hawaii.
