I agree with most parts of Don's concept.
I think it would be better to have more time for shooting because it will
achieve better results which is more important for visitors than the date of
shooting. The "event" could also be the date of publishing all the panoramas
instead of the shooting date.
So I propose to have one month for shooting and always the Solstice date for
publishing.
