Re: Bridges Day - 2004 - My Story

On Sunday I headed out with a friend to try to show him the basics of
panography while shooting a bridge. His entry will be of some
interesting features of the California Central Valley once he gets
his computer up and running again (little HDD crash yesterday -
yikes!)
On Monday I headed to the San Francisco Bay to figure out how to do a
great bridge pano of my own. The Golden Gate Bridge is definitely
the bridge in the area that strikes me the most. I live in the North
Bay and so every time I head to the city my first view of San
Francisco includes this amazing bridge in the foreground.
I parked nearby and started the tourist thing. I got some shots from
high up in the Marin Headlands overlooking the bridge and the city.
Then I walked down and across the bridge taking several panos from
different vantage points.
A little later in the afternoon I headed off to dinner and stayed in
the area. I had previously looked up the time of moon set and
decided to wait for a night shot. As it turns out, this last series
of photos were by far my favorite and the panorama I will probably
submit. You can see some panos from my day here:

Happy Equinox everyone and I hope your shooting and stitching is successful!
