Hi Thanks

The hindi text reads as "Hey Ram" Which were Gandhi's
last words when he was shot by Nathuram Godse - a
Hindu extremist. The irony of his words is that the
Mythological Hindu God Ram or Rama was as much an icon
to Gandhi who held him as symbol of Righteousness as
he was to the Hindu extremists whose goal it was to
create a Hindi Nation or "Ram Rajya"
But more than anything it was the assasination of
Gandhi that brought peace to the shocked Indian
Subcontinent.

Fifty years after the death of Gandhi, Hindu
Nationalists did come to power in India. In six years
of their rule they converted India into a Nuclear
Power, tried to rewrite the history books of India
from their point of view and did much more...

Fortunately this year the Indian Public voted out the
nationalists and brought back to power the Congress
party led by Sonia Gandhi, who is both a forigner
(italian) and a Catholic. A sign to most of us
thankful Indians that the worlds most populous
democracy is by no means a "Democracy of Fools"
