Problem with skins

Hi all,
I've been trying to create a skin for a QT movie, as per directions on
http:// www.apple.com/quicktime/tools_tips/tutorials/mediaskins/ .
As QT failed to read the XML file with its extension changed from
".txt" to ".mov", I tried to use an applet provided in
http://www.apple.com/applescript/quicktime/.
It failed too, this time exposing the error message that follows:
"QuickTime Player got an error: An error of type -9995 has occurred."
I'm using QT 6.5.2, on Mac OS 10.3.7.
Is there a way around the problem?
