Gardens - A World Wide Panorama
G. Donald Bain 2006-Jun-19 22:03:00
Gardens - I think it is a great theme! So geographic, so many
photographic possibilities, so much diversity.
Gardens differ as much as the people who make them and the places
they are located. They can be practical, producing fruits,
vegetables, or cut flowers. They can be commercial or public or
private. They can be artistic, reflecting a cultural tradition or one
person's creativity. They can be formal, or natural, or totally wild.
Gardens reflect culture and history, individual inspiration and
taste. Each environment offers possibilities and imposes constraints.
Every garden is different, and each has a story to tell. Think about
your particular place on earth and what makes it different and
special, and how that is exemplified in a garden. Then share your
thoughts with us - and the world.
