Software that would work for group shots of people

Hey,
I cannot afford a Noblex, Widelux, etc.. but I want to make a group
photograph in pano-style. I was thinking of arranging them in a
semi-circle to reduce the distortion and use my Peace River Panohead.
My current software, VR Worx, flattens the image and I cannot control
the overlap like I could in a masked Photoshop file. I'm sure I'll
have overlap conflicts with people moving.
What software would you recommend to help me stitch for such a photo?
PanoTools?
