Neo nazis were denied permission to march in the *jewish quarter* of
prague on the anniversary of crystal-night. they stated they would
march anyway.
thousands of counter-demonstrators showed up, including the
illustrious "anarchists" who themselves resemble nazis and I think
many passersby mistook the anarchists for nazis.
as it turns out, the 300 or so nazis got trapped in a metro station
outside the center, they didn't stop the trains there, and finally
they were all arrested (or at least persuaded not to show up in the
center)
so it was a rather tense few hours of standing in the cold, regular
folks, anarchists, and riot police, all waiting for neo nazis to show
up. robocops, tanks, horses, and a helicopter. it was quite a strange
afternoon.
