I have noticed two different dates for the start of photo-sampling: 
16th and 17th June within the introduction url ( A VR-Photography

16th is at :

NEXT EVENT
Water - A World Wide Panorama
June 16-21, site available July 5.

and 

17th is at :

Coming Events in 2005:
June 17-20 ? on the Solstice - "Water"
