wwp@yahoogroups.com: Heavy AUDIO download in WWP Dave 360texas.com 2005-Jul-01 14:41:00
I agree audio creates atmosphere that improves the panorama visuals.

However, 56k dial up people should not have to be left out of the
loop due to big audio file downloads.

I think the WWP audio's are QT flavor. I am not sure how they are
created. I am on a PC. But here is an alternate solution.. if you
are willing to use a slightly different file format called FLASH.
Yes, I know FlashMX is expensive, but there is an affordable flash
alternative called "SwishMax".

The Australian company page is http://www.swishzone.com

No I do not sell it. But I do recommend it because it is very
simple to use. I have used for the last 5 years.

Why use an audio .swf file flavor ?

On this page http://www.360texas.com/feature/afeature1.htm you can
hear music. The audio OFF switch is in the lower right corner of
page.

That audio loop was a 2.5mb .wav file +small on/off graphic. When
brought into SwishMax and save out as a .swf... the entire file was
reduced to 74kb. Great compression.

Just a thought on the Audio file size issue and panoramas.

Dave
