wwp@yahoogroups.com: I'd love a critique on my pano! jefffreymartin 2005-Jul-05 18:51:00

It's the river behind my new house. Since I managed to get beautiful
girls in the "marketplace" panorama, I thought I'd do the same (just
my girlfriend this time) for the "water" panorama :-D

This river, Sazava, is not deep at all, but this part is quite fast.
So, with Katka on the ladder above me, I stuck my tripod (and myself)
into the river. It was vibrating from the current so I had to tie a
string to the tripod and anchor it to my foot. It was slightly
frightening having my baby (camera that is) at the mercy of this
strong current... Anyway, I made 4 shots (sigma 8mm) at 90 degrees (a
few shots at each place because of the vibration), trying my best not
to get my camera too wet from my hands, and trying not to let Katka
move too much...

I'm quite happy with the result - although I forgot to erase the alpha
channel before panocubing it, so there's a small black dot on the
nadir. Also this is one example where Smartblend would have been
better than enblend because there is one stitching artifact on one of
her arms.... All in all though, I'm very happy with it, and my camera
survived, thank goodness!

I hope everyone else had as much fun shooting their panos as I did...

Energy, eh? I bet I can get girls in that one too ;)
