John (and AYRTON, et al),
After camping last night, I am now in a motel in Crescent City, with high s=
peed internet
access (unexpected). I had a great day shooting in the redwood forest, tree=
s 100 meters
tall, cool misty air, rhododendrens in bloom.
Yes, I think we shoud stick strictly to the dates - the Solstice (Monday) a=
nd nearest
weekend (today and tomorrow) - June 19,20,21. Otherwise it ceases to be an =
event, and is
just another compilation of VR'S.
Same for the theme, world heritage in some form or other, official if at al=
l possible.
I drove 250 miles (400 km) yesterday to be able to do an official UNESCO si=
te. John, how
about a jaunt out to Toroweap on the north rim of the Grand Canyon - that's=
an official
site? It's just 60 miles of unpaved (and mostly unsigned) roads, south from=
Colorado City
(use the ACSC-AAA map Indian Country). An adventure, guaranteed.
