Hi Rolf,

Thanks for the kind words! I'm glad you liked the pano. As I mention on the
entry, I had to use a 24mm lens in order to get sufficient detail so that
the text was visible. Just a couple months ago, I got my first shipment of
Pinnacle VR heads, (www.pinnacle-vr.com <http://www.pinnacle-vr.com/> if
you are interested), which are a very flexible platform for shooting with a
variety of bodies and lenses. Without this, I don't know how I would have
captured all of the necessary detail.

I shoot four rows of twelve images as well as a zenith and nadir for a total
of 50 shots. The nadir has the tripod in it, so I clone that out in
PhotoShop. I use a PTGui template to create the nadir view, which is edited
in PhotoShop, then use another PTGui template to remap the edited nadir back
into the equirectangular format. I can forward those to you offline if you
are interested.

However, I'm getting ahead of myself. Before I edited the nadir, I blended
the two images together. I use a technique that Michael Reichmann has on his
web site here -
http://www.luminous-landscape.com/tutorials/digital-blending.shtml. I use
the second option, the Layer Mask. I'd suggest experimenting with two small
images first to get used to the process before launching into a large scale
effort. I've recorded the steps into a PhotoShop action, so that I don't
have to remember the details.

Let me know if there are more details that I haven't covered.

Mark

*                     Hi Mark

Your pano is very, very well done.
Can you explain a little more in detail how you did it?
-> You blended 2 pictures together - how?

Congratulations

Rolf
