Ahem. The rules of copyright don't *quite* work that way, although
many copyright holders will feel better about such uses if proper
credit is due.
Copyright law can be complex, and the details do change from one
country to the next. But in fact the bottom line is simple: if you
want to use something that someone else created but you don't have
actual permission, legally you can't use it. End of story.
But if you *do* have permission then fine. :-)
