Hello again,
I am wondering if the wwp project would loose focus if we concentrate
too much on themes. Many of the suggested themes would be perfect for a
general VR site (as there are some), as a monthly assignment. But if we
only receive 30 fantastic panoramas about a certain theme, wwp has a
problem, even if the quality of the panorama's is outstanding.
The success of wwp depends on a minimum amount of participants (eg 100
has been mentioned), so that the result at least in some way represents
a global view. The last two wwp's already had a lot of white spots on
the globe (something we should try to improve!). So in some way, the
themes will have to be popular and interesting enough for a large group
of potential photographers and also be interesting for the media,
bloggers and all the normal visitors.
On online voting system (as earlier suggested) of wwp memberss for
themes might help to estimate participation.
