Got my hand on one of the first Nikon D70 arriving to Aarhus,
Denmark on friday afternoon, so I didn't have much time to try it
out before doing my pano for wwwp.

As my manual non-cpu Peleng 8mm fisheye don't give much feedback
from the camera, I had to guestimate the settings - not that hard
though after some testshots and by the help of the quick camera LCD
readout of the histogram.

The D70 don't fit on my homemade coolpix 995 panohead, and I
forgot to take my monopod with me, so I had to do the shots handheld.

After a week with almost summerly temperature a cold rainstorm hit
Denmark friday night, but luckily the first part of saturday the
weather got better with enough blue sky and stormy clouds between
the the rain. So after a short hailstorm I manage to make my shot at
the vegetable market at Ingerslev Boulevard.

It's quite some time since I did my last handheld and I wasn't
carefull enough holding the camera levelled and over the nodalpoint,
so my stiching attempts with ptgui didn't look good. Instead I ended
up using the panotool plugin in photoshop to remap the the fisheye-
image and handstich them with heavy use of the deform tool ;o).

I had to fill in some people from other shots to cover some of the
worst part [guess where?] - That said, I think the result is ok.
[with some more practice and a panohaed for the D70 - I think I can
do terrific looking panos with this equipment - only thing that
bothers me a bit is, thatI let go of an original hard-to-get
Nikon Fisheye lense a few month ago, as I was planning on buying a
Pentax at that time ;-( ]

Have a sneak preview at:
