We do have moved to HTML5 (okay, so ? about a week ago, so we haven't been cutting edge ;-) ), and the WWP also works with QuicktimeVR and Flash. (personally, I'd prefer some sort of HTML5 playback with QTVR as data format since it's only one single server request instead of the dozens of tile images that the server gets peppered with, but that's most likely never going to happen :-) ).
It's great to see there's work being done on open source VR viewers! I'll look into offering it as an additional viewing choice, and it's interesting to see that it can accept equirect sources directly.
