I personally enjoyed this as a purely serendipitous project - I didn't
stoke my competitive fires because there was no competitive element. I
think everything submitted so far is worthy of praise, each for
different reasons. I wouldn't mind in the future a competition-oriented
pano project, but I rather enjoyed this one being purely casual.
I'm sure many of us didn't produce our technically best work, but were
nevertheless motivated to be involved (maybe even in spite of it!). I
for one would have spent a lot more time fretting about my work - and a
lot less time enjoying the day (of which the pano was one small piece)
if I was going to be subjected to a public vote - call it vanity...
I do think it's worth calling out the gems you find though, once the
site goes public (as with ~200 highly distinct panos it's hard to see
them all and still be able to distinguish many of them from memory)...
but I vote against the vote :)
