So far, the themes have been very general allowing for a wide variety
of interpretation by the contributors. I afraid that if they become
more specific (or agenda driven) they will be more predictable and
boring.
Fore example, "Forest" is a theme that would fit with the existing
trend. It would allow a diversity of expression that would include
a "rain forest", a "clear-cut logged area", or other ideas like
a "forest of TV antennas". I think we would all be surprised by the
variety that would result. But if the theme was "ecology" or some
such thing, the images would probably be predictable.
I think Don and Landis have done a great job and I am sure they will
come up with a good theme for the next shoot.
