Thomas,
The problem might be language. Aren't both Landis and Markus on
Macintosh? I am, and your explanation doesn't explain anything to me.
You say "like the event bookmark list on the front page". Is this the
"front page": http://128.32.102.88:8090/gen/edit/wwp905/index.html?
Under "Other events" I see links to pages. On my system a link does
not generate a bookmark. To get a bookmark, I have to tell my browser
I want one. If I did say "add bookmark", by clicking a menu item in
my browser, then that link would appear in a list of my personal
bookmarks.

So I do not understand what you say is being generated. I believe you
know something of value, and you are trying to communicate it, but
the language is not clear enough to get the message across.

Do you mean "download data files"?

I just tried a person's page. There is a link that says "Show in
Google Maps". I do that. No bookmark appears in my list. What is it
that happens? Or is it if I would click "Show in Google Earth" that
it is. I've done that. Now I see what the problem is. I'm using
Safari on Macintosh. Clicking the google earth link causes a file to
download to my computer. It is called wwp905_KerryRudy.kml. This
happens even though I don't have the required software.

I believe you have to use the words "download a .kml file" instead of
bookmark or placemark.

I feel I have explained my problem in understanding your words. But
it takes work. I wonder if I've communicated correctly to you?
