Hi Eric
No lens and camera have a centered image, just too many variables in
manufacturing. When you optimize in PTGui it will find the lens
center and correct so that shouldn't be an issue. My Sigma 8mm is off
by 3.5px one direction and 1.8px in another, my 10.5mm Nikkor is off
by a lot more 8 x 5px! No problems when optimizing though. You should
optimize with as many control points as possible (10-20 per pair) to
find the proper lens settings and then you only need to do 3-4
control points per pair on a daily basis.
If you use PTGui 5 and use auto control point generation it should be
no problem at all, from what I hear.
