wwp@yahoogroups.com: Flash Image controls - full screen- shift-Ctrl key does odd stuff Dave 360texas.com 2009-Jun-30 17:18:00
Thank you for converting our .jpg to Flash. I have been looking for a sample URL that would show what the converted flash quality renders.

I know I should have waited for the WWP TIME to be published but...
Logged back into my WWP account. Navigated to our TIME entry. Found under the small .mov view window a small text link for display same .mov as a .swf display.

Small flash pano has no autorotation. Mouse clicked and manually rotated. Manual rotation is smooth and appears to render at an acceptable quality.

Clicked the full screen button.. displayed same flash image full 25" wide screen 1920 x 1200 res. No autorotation.

Please make note to add some text saying "Mouse click and drag image around". Visitors might think this is a still photo.

Used the mouse scroll wheel to zoom in/out. While zoomed in rotation appears smooth although I am seeing some small amount vertical banding during rotating.

So far so good.

Since QTVR .mov's use the Shift key to zoom in and the CTRL key to zoom out thought I would try the keyboard controls on this FS Flash image. KB Zoom in/out work ok...

->>>>> but when I started to rotate.... the apparant horizon reset itself to 30% higher in the sphere. KB zoom in/out did work.. but now on the reset higher horizon. Rotation displayed black slicing mixed in with the image tiles.

Sort of behaved like the OLD version Flash 9 used to do. While zoomed in full screen the image tiles would not join properly with intermittant black triangle slicing appeared. The behavior reminds me of when Pano2VR earlier beta versions would could not properly control the tile placements.. 'Change stage quality' or something similar that Flash 8 or 9 would do.

At this point, the mouse wheel nor the CTRL key would let me zoom back out again.. and the horizon was permanently set at about 30% above the normal middle part of the image. Could not mouse drag down or up.

Only way to recover was to close the full screen. Yes, this is a repeatable issue. I am using IE 8, Flash 10 browser plugin.

Yes, I did a screen capture if you are interested in seeing it. It shows the errant tile placement and black triangle slicing. I can email it to you (whom ever) after the WWP is published and there might be more evaluation time. Contact me off list at [at all 1 word] texas 360 at swbell dot net.
