wwp@yahoogroups.com:
call for translators

My worldwide friends,
We would like to make the home page for the World Wide Panorama
available in as many languages as possible.
Visitors to the site will be able choose an alternate home page from a
menu. The rest of the site will continue to be primarily in English
(with translations of individual pages whenever the author has provided
one). If this works out we may do multiple language versions for the
home pages of each event.
Although computer-based translators are available, I don't want to use
one unless necessary. So I am asking for volunteers.
Don't start translating right now! The text for the "new" home page is
not ready yet. If you are willing to help, just e-mail me directly -
#removed# - do not e-mail the list!
It will involve translating just one page, much shorter than the
present one. I have made a list of all the languages that I think may
have been represented in past events. If you are volunteering be sure
to specify for which language. This is roughly how the menu might look:
Arabic | Chinese | Czech | Danish | Dutch | Estonian | Finnish |
Flemish | French | German | Greek | Hebrew | Hungarian | Italian |
Japanese | Korean | Polish | Portugese | Romanian | Russian | Slovakian
| Slovenian | Spanish | Ukrainian
Also let me know if there are other languages we should include
(Basque, Tagalog, 'stralian?), and if I am using the correct English
name for the language.
Thanks,
Don
