I recently bought a Canon EOS 20D. I prefer to shoot multirow
panoramas since it gives me more detail to work with.
I use the Canon EF-S 10-22mm @10mm when shooting my panoramas, 16
shots +1 tripod patch (8 @ 0deg, 4 @ +60deg, 4 @ -60deg)
I've found PTGui to be the best stitcher to handle this lens. I've
read about many people having problems with Realviz since the
distortion of this lens is appearently too complex for Realviz to
correct.
You'll need a good panorama head too. They're expensive, but
definately a must-have if you're serious about panoramas (I have a
Manfrotto 303SPH).
I'm very happy with this camera/lens combination. I'm toying with
the idea of getting a Sigma 8mm lens too. Even though detail will
suffer a little, it will be much easier to shoot panoramas where a
lot of people are moving around...
